Senior Verification Engineer - Ottawa, Canada
Kindsight is looking for a senior verification engineer to join a small, dynamic team creating a security system to protect residential internet users. The successful candidate will take a lead role in the quality assurance efforts for the initial release of the product as well as drive the strategy to drive towards an automated test environment in the future.
Key requirements:
- 5-10+ years of verification experience in both hardware platforms and software systems. Several years of experience in Unix and/or Linux-based system development. In depth experience and knowledge of IP/TCP protocols.
- Strong security background in intrusion prevention/detection, malware and vulnerability analysis
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality products through development of comprehensive verification planning
- Performing different types of testing including: Black/white box functional testing, Regression testing, Performance/load testing, Integrated testing and certification testing
- Extensive knowledge of commercial and open-source verification tools
- Strong working knowledge of automated testing techniques and tools (eg. STAF/STAX and TPTP). Ability to make buy Vs build decisions based on broad industry knowledge and experience.
- Experience working with customers, specifically on initial product releases to assist in product trials, issue tracking and problem resolution
- Strong working knowledge of: Linux based development. Proficient in TCL, Python and PERL. Familiarity with C/C++ & Java
- Strong team and skills. Demonstrated ability to make technical decisions and influence team members with regards to technical direction
- Ability to work in a small, dynamic team. Able to take on multiple roles and responsibilities as needed
